A Tradition Of Excellence
Hockey is at the heart of life in Scoil Mhuire College. It is one of our flagship sports and an integral part of the Scoil Mhuire Journey, providing students with opportunities to grow in confidence, develop leadership skills, build lifelong friendships and represent their school with pride.
Our hockey programme welcomes players of all abilities. Whether a student is picking up a hockey stick for the first time or has years of playing experience, she will find a supportive, challenging and enjoyable environment where she can develop both as a player and as a person.
At Scoil Mhuire, hockey is about far more than results. It reflects the values that define our school community—commitment, resilience, teamwork, respect and ambition. Every training session, every match and every season contributes to building confident young women who embrace challenges, support one another and strive to achieve their very best.
A Historic Season
The 2025/2026 season marked the most successful chapter in the history of Scoil Mhuire hockey.
Our Senior A team achieved an extraordinary milestone by becoming the first Cork school ever to win the Munster Senior League and Munster Senior Cup double, before going on to secure the greatest achievement in the school's history by winning the prestigious All-Ireland Daphne Hall Cup.

Senior Squads: Monday, 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Junior Squads (Third Year): Tuesday, 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Senior A Training/Matches: Wednesday, 2:00pm – 3:30pm
Minor Squads (Second Year): Thursday, 4:00pm – 6:00pm
First Year Squad: Friday, 4:00pm – 6:00pm*
*First Year training may alternate with, or move to, Wednesdays (2:00pm–3:30pm) depending on coach availability. Final arrangements will be confirmed in September.
Please note: Training days and times may occasionally change depending on coach availability. Every effort will be made to maintain the published schedule.
Transport
School buses depart promptly from outside Scoil Mhuire College:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 3:35pm
Wednesday: 1:30pm
Students are expected to travel directly on the school bus and are not permitted to leave the school to visit shops or cafés before departure.
Collection Arrangements
For health and safety reasons, parents and guardians are asked to ensure that students are collected promptly at the conclusion of training sessions. Pitch bookings and coaching sessions finish at the scheduled time, and many of our coaches have additional professional and family commitments immediately afterwards.
Working together, we can ensure that every student enjoys a safe, positive and rewarding hockey experience.
