The Fun Day

A fabulous fun day of frolics and frivolity was enjoyed by teachers and pupils on Friday 16th of May at local sports grounds. The fund raiser and end of year extravaganza was packed with activities such as egg and spoon races, sack races, welly-throwing, stocks, ceilí, tug-of-war and three legged races. A soccer match between the teachers and the sixth year pupils (in fancy dress) went to the wire in a highly competitive bout, but the teachers eventually prevailed.

Bernard the piggy-bank, who had earlier in the week been taken hostage made an appearance having had his ransom paid. Spot prizes were also awarded on the day. Thanks to Mrs. B O’Brien who organised the event and to all who made the event a really enjoyable occasion.
